Like most wonderful things in my life, I did not exactly choose this path--it came upon me and I felt a Calling.
It started as a helpful skill in my other various professions: whether as a founder and Artistic Director of a summer adventure camp & arts organization (now in it's 25th year of operations), or at my small town family wine & liquor shop (owned for over 75 years through four generations), then as the Director of Development for a national historic site that utilized creative arts for education & engagement.Nonprofits, Small Businesses, and The Arts all have one thing in common: they need funding and community support. Events are a great way to build that, bring people together, and engage our community.As I was entering my 40s, I found myself less interested in working for a traditional corporation, and most passionate about helping others. For a while it was just something I did, often voluntarily, and then I thought: Hey, I'm pretty good at this, and I think this is what I want to do!It wasn't really a "job" that I had heard of before, but I saw that as a cool challenge. I figured hey, we get one life, let's follow our passions, go tilt at windmills, live life like a Narnian, make our own kind of music, with the lovers, the dreamers, and me!While I initially thought of calling it Casagrande Events, that didn't quite capture the spirit. I love producing cool community events, but what I really want is to help people realize their dreams, find their unique path, and choose their own adventure.Sometimes this means just sitting down & listening, helping focus their vision, connecting them with others who can help, and lifting them up when they need it. Sometimes all people need is a helping hand, a little elevation, and they grow confident, are thriving, and probably don't need me anymore! Then I just gain a new friend in my cool community circle, someone who I know will help others in turn. And slowly but surely, our world gets better.So, if you need an advocate, a cheerleader, a sounding board, an advisor, community connection, support, funding, rejuvenation or revitalization, I'm your Huckleberry! No business or dream is too big or too small, and we can easily work within any budget, or even no budget, because in the end, our real investment is each other. We believe in people.Let's plan, let's dream, let's help one another. Most of all, let's not just live in the world that is, but create the world we want, together!
